The following provides a view
of some of information provided on this call. You will
find Steve in rapid fire mode and encouraging all to become
very active in social networking, focus on a niche to start and
use video to help create awareness and credibility for your
business or special interest. In
summary:
Steve (I) has been on line since 1995
and right away advises all to learn the fundamentals of using
Internet tools and marketing then immediately dismiss the
notion that your success is dependent on buying the latest
training program, membership program or attending all the
seminars that are offered each year. This is not advising
against any of those as I continue to develop my skills using
resources that I feel are most beneficial. However, the number
trap most people find themselves in is thinking they will learn
their way to success. Success is a result of balancing some
knowledge and skill with action. It is amazing what you will
learn when you begin to act. If you don't know how to create a
blog, watch a video on creating blogs and create one as you
watch. If you don't know how to register a domain name and
manage your account on a server, watch a video on how to
register and domain name and manage your account then just do
it while you are watching.
Steve discusses in-depth a number of
related topics in this interview including:
His history with social networking
which only recently started. He gives a lot of credit to John
Reese and Brian Campbell for his start.
Paying attention to the "buzz" on
line and noting what isn't being actively discussed. This is
how YouTube Mastery was formed. However, just because something
is already being done, do not let that hold you back if you
have an interest and your own view on the topic. The on line
demographics are huge and increasing daily so there is plenty
of room for whatever topic you want to address. Your research
can quickly confirm you have a niche that is interested in your
topic and will buy what it is you are wanting to
offer.
Steve provided a clear picture
of the strategy of YouTube Mastery. The first step was to
establish a common base line of skill levels. That includes
using a basic video camera and screen capture software for
creating a video, loading it onto YouTube then using the code
to add that video to social networking sites, your website and
blog. The intermediate phase will focus on search engine
optimization and syndication and the advanced training will
include a more in-depth view of topics previously covered plus
new resources and training . The advanced agenda is in
development.
In the concluding portion of the call
Steve discuss the upcoming Social Marketing University being
developed by Ron Capps, and offer very specific guidance on
using video to two callers with great questions. He reinforced
the value of video helping search engine positioning with his
own site www.dublian.com
reaching number one in Google for a primary keyword in
a matter of days.
